dc.description.abstract The aim of this research is to do an energy usage efficiency of buckwheat production during the production season of 2015 in Bingol province of Turkey. The energy input and output in buckwheat production was calculated as 15491.49 MJ ha(-1) and 50855.50 MJ ha(-1), respectively. Energy inputs consist of 32.45% (5027.35 MJ ha(-1)) diesel fuel energy, 24.90% (3856.89 MJ ha(-1)) machinery energy, 19.83% (3072.35 MJ ha(-1)) chemical fertilizers energy, 8.59% (1330.56 MJ ha(-1)) irrigation (sprinkler) energy, 8.03% (1244.44 MJ ha(-1)) human labour energy and 6.20% (959.90 MJ ha(-1)) seed energy. Energy usage efficiency, energy productivity, specific energy and net energy in buckwheat production have been calculated as 3.28, 0.17 kg MJ(-1), 5.85 MJ Kg(-1) and 35364.01 MJ ha(-1), respectively. tr
