Intensive energy is used depending on the process and equipment used during the operation of the wastewater treatment plant. Energy cost is the most important part of the budget used for the operation of a treatment plant. Energy management in wastewater treatment plants due to rising energy costs have become a major issue. In this study, Atakoy Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant (AABWWTP) using the input and output of the plant design and operating parameters is performed economic analysis. AABWWTP of 2012 January-September, the monthly per capita water use values between the months spent in the amount of 5,007 L, the amount of energy spent 1,652 W/person, respectively. Total treated wastewater average is 9,762,735 m(3)/month, produced a total amount of biogas average 264,799 m(3)/month, and the total turbine power production average 1,569.03 MWh/month, total electricity consumption average of 3221.93 MWh/month, and energy recovery 88.78%. 1 m(3) of wastewater, electricity consumption value for the treatment ranged from 0.213 to 0.444 kWh. The specific energy consumption of the plant was found to be 19.8 kWh/population equivalent (p.e.). year and 0.33 kWh/m(3) per p.e. and treated wastewater, respectively. Wastewater treatment plants in our country energy savings due to the increasing price of energy has become an important issue. |
