Abstract:
The concept of alienation (students developing negative attitudes towards school and the activities done in the school) prevents educational organizations to achieve their organizational goals. It is dear that determining the degree of alienation is the starting point in the effort of finding solutions. In this study, the main purpose is to develop a scale measuring students' alienation feelings. Subjects are 857 students enrolled in various programs in the Faculty of Education. Of these students, 40 are female and 448 are male. In the course of validity, the scale was reduced to 4 factors with the use of explanatory factor analysis. Then, this four-factor structure was confirmed with the use of confirmatory factor analysis. For the purpose of measuring reliability of the scale item analysis, the Cronbach's alpha, Spearman-Brown ye Guttman Split Half reliability coefficients and correlation coefficients between items and the subscales were computed. As a result of validity and reliability studies, it was seen that scale can be used.
