Özet:
The purpose of this study was to determine and evaluate the secondary school chemistry teachers' problems encountered during chemistry teaching in Adiyaman and Malatya. The questionnaire based on experts' views and literature knowledge was applied to 72 experienced (teaching minimum two years) secondary school chemistry teachers and the data were collected by the way of interviews, observations and the questionnaire. As a result of the study, chemistry teachers' problems can be concluded as insufficiency of the practical part of chemistry education gained in during university chemistry education to perform practical works in secondary schools chemistry class or laboratory, inadequacy of National Curriculum of Chemistry for an effective chemistry education, the lack or deficiency of materials, equipment, physical area and laboratory opportunities, the huge numbers of the students in the class, the informational education orienting students towards only central exam (O.S.S) achievement, insufficiency of chemistry textbooks and apathy of students toward chemistry.
